We endeavour to reach out beyond the parish boundaries to remind us that we are part of the world-wide Church. We actively support the work and campaigns of Christian Aid, USPG (United Society Partners in the Gospel), Fairtrade and the Tiyanjane Clinic for patients with HIV/Aids in Malawi.
An important local commitment is our support for the Otley Christian Resources Hub - providing a wide range of resources and support enabling local parishes to celebrate, encourage, affirm and develop their work with children and young people.
St John's has a small, dedicated team of amateur thespians who regularly go into the Primary School to tell Bible stories using props and visuals from Open the Book.
Our Christmas giving in 2015 focused once again on the work of the inter-denominational INN Churches project in Bradford.
Three times a year we donate the profit from Sunday morning coffee to a wide variety of charities with either an overseas, local or UK focus. Recent recipients have been the St Gemma's Hospice, Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Autism Research, the DEC's appeal for Syrian refugees, Medicins sans Frontieres, Freedom from Torture.
