ABOUT US
'Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole
staircase - just take the first step.'
- Dr Martin Luther King Jr
Welcome to St John's, Menston. We are a family friendly church at the heart of the Menston Community. We aim to grow in relationship with God and with each other.
If you're new here, check out the "I'm New" page, where you should be able to find all you need to know. If not, drop us a message via the contact us page and someone will be in touch as soon as possible.
WHERE ARE WE?
Burley Lane, Menston, Ilkley, LS29 6EU
The village of Menston is approximately ten miles north-west of the centre of Leeds and 9 miles north of Bradford centre, between Guiseley and Burley-in-Wharfedale. The parish itself extends beyond Menston village to include High Royds and Burley Woodhead - as well as a lot of sheep!
Menston also has a railway station between Guiseley and Burley on the Wharfedale Line, with direct trains to Leeds, Bradford Forster Square and Ilkley, making us easily accessible by both car and public transport!
ACCESS
Church: The main access is up a series of steps with level areas in between. Hand rails are provided. Wheelchair access is via the sloping path accessed opposite the Menston Arms on Main Street. There is a portable ramp up a small step into the church itself. The toilet in the church building is accessible via steps, though we encourage the use of the Parish Room toilet instead.
Parish Room: The Parish Room around the back of church has access via the main path and sloping side path and is level with a wide door. The toilets have level access and one is fully adapted for use by people with disabilities.
Help with wheelchairs is available on request.
A Loop system is installed in the church.
If you have any queries regarding access, please do not hesitate to contact us.
