It was great to welcome Jeanne-Claire to our recent meeting when we discussed zero waste shops, cycle racks and our planting plans.
Here is some information about zero waste shops locally:
Burley -in Wharfedale – Waste not – on the main street, there is free parking directly outside.
Ilkley – Waste not (sister shop to Burley, their second one ) – Wells Road opposite Friends of Ham. Again there is parking outside the shop - one hour free. Even better,go by train - very handy for the station! Website is: https://wastenot.tillex.co.uk/app?vrp=29
Both these shops are owned by Charlotte who works mainly in the Burley shop, with her sister Tillie working in the Ilkley shop.
Otley – Like Nana did – in Orchard Gate, open Monday to Saturday every week, also the last Sunday of the month. They offer a delivery service through Shop Otley.
Horsforth – Zero Muda – on the Main Street (New Road Side) in Horsforth . They open 7 days per week with parking on the main street. They offer an organic veg box collection service (Kirkstall Community Farm) which the farm will deliver to them and you can collect every Friday. They also offer a wide range of loose organic fruit/veg that get delivered from The Organic Pantry. They also have bread delivered to them from the Leeds Bread Co-op as well as selling wine to fill your own bottle.
All the shops above offer a wide range of goods from food / teas/coffees to beauty/household products .
